Independent Wormen’s Football League, the premier American women’s football organisation, will hold its 2009 Championship Weekend in Austin, Texas. There will be four full days of play and events. The activities will take place at Round Rock ISD Stadium.

The best woman football players from the North American teams, including their all star players, will be present and competing in this weekend long event. The event is being held in the very city that started the American women’s football league. The game is definitely very different from the “powder puff” ladies football of past days. This is real player full contact football. Anyone who hasn’t seen these women play this sport is in for a surprise.

The IWFL, the Independent Women’s Football League, was founded in 2000. It is described as an international tackle football league for women. The organisation gives the women’s teams a chance to play very competitive games in a league that is at the top of the sport. Sportsmanship is also an important component of the league, as is general goodwill. IWFL is actually the only league that is officially recognised as a women’s tackle football league.

The league is looking to promote the sport among young girls and women and wants to expand its number of teams in participation. It is a very important player in the women’s sports market. It is aiming for a leadership role in the developing of the sport for the women of the future.
